First single varietal of Castell del Remei. Partial whole-cluster fermentation, intense and deep. Vibrant and juicy.
Wine result from a single plot Garnatxa vineyard of 5Has named Alts del Castell.
Altitude: Vines raising 717 meters Height.
Type of soil: Clay –limestone with pebbles.
Grape varieties: 100% Grenache.
Age of the vineyard: Planted in 1981.
Farming: Organic under rain-fed conditions.
Yield: 4.000 Kg /Ha average.
Harvest: Hand-picked in 20kgs cases on the 5th and 6th October, 2020.
Fermentation: Two different devise for the same Grenache and one final blend:
A 4.500L Tonneau half-filled with full-clustered grapes and half destemmed. Remainder in a stainless steel tank. Once fermentation completed, wine run-off on November 25th.
Maceration: 7 weeks in total ( 25 days pumping-up and 25 days with no-intervention).
Ageing: 1/3 of the wine lasts 50 days in a French Oak Tonneau.
Yeast: Selected indigenous yeast.
Glass bottle & Cork: Burgundy bottle with Natural cork 44cm.
Production: 6.000 bottles.
Type of wine: Complex, deep and fresh.
